Landscape, Documentary and Travel Photographer
Pete, aka Moose, has had a love for photography since his early teenage years, a passion that was passed on from his father. Starting with film, but embracing digital technology at the earliest opportunity, Moose has been fortunate to be able to combine his love of photography with his desire to travel, often in a professional capacity. Following early retirement, he will be able to indulge his passion for travel and photography to the full.
Moose has enjoyed and explored, most categories of photography, however, his primary interest lies with the landscape, travel and documentary genres. His preferred medium of photography is digital; when shooting in black and white it is highly reminiscent of film with his use of grain and high contrast tonality. However, he is also adept at recognising when colour is essential to enhance and deliver the image narrative. Moose embraces all aspects of landscape, travel and documentary photography, especially where human presence would normally be considered an intervention or obstruction to the traditional view of ‘beautiful’ landscapes. His project ‘Landscapes with Attitude’, which took him throughout the UK, demonstrates his ability to incorporate the likes of power stations, wind turbines, solar farms and industrial equipment, combining with travel and documentary genres to produce thought provoking, fine art photography.
